Girls Who Code Club | Starts November 14, 2019


What is a Girls Who Code Club?

Girls Who Code Clubs are meant for high school girls to join our sisterhood of supportive peers and role models, and use Computer Science to change the world. Club members will be able to learn from fun and simple online coding tutorials, build community though interactive activities, and learn about inspiring role models. Members would then work in teams to design and build a Girls Who Code Project that solves real world problems they care about through code!

Who can join?

Open to all high school students, grades 9 - 12, who identify as female regardless of gender assignment at birth or legal recognition.

What do members learn?


- Soft Skills: Teamwork, Confidence, Time Management, Communication

- Hard Skills: Functions, Variables, Loops, Conditionals

- Learn a variety of programming languages, from block-based code (Scratch, Thunkable) to Pythonand JavaScript (Trinkit.io)

How much does it cost to join?

Clubs are 100% FREE to attend.

Do I need my own laptop?

The CSI Tech Incubator will provide all necessary equipment and materials.

Are there any requirements to join?

Only a passion to change the world through code! No tech or coding experience is required.

When will the club run?

Thursday from November 14, 2019 - May 28, 2020 at 3:30pm - 5:30pm.

Pizza will be served 3:30pm - 4pm.
