STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- About 150 students and parents from across Staten Island spent a March day filled with computer science and Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) activities as part of the Department of Education’s Computer Science for All initiative.
Activities for kids in kindergarten through eighth grade were available with the help of teacher and student volunteers from across the borough, and community partners, including the Staten Island Zoo, Staten Island MakerSpace, Sunset Park, Brickz 4 Kids, the College of Staten Island Tech Incubator and Girl Scouts of America.
